NYPD escalates arrest situation in store by attacking a family for speaking to them

Uploaded by on Jul 10, 2011

In this video you can see the Torres family shopping. A woman is being arrested near them, and the men in the family decide to ask the officers to not be so rough with the woman.

It is clear that the woman is resisting the arrest for whatever reason she has.

The Torres family keeps their distance from the police while they work, but they continue to speak freely.

At one point when it seems like the cops are ready to go, one officer walks towards a member of the Torres family and attempts to put him in handcuffs. That's when his family steps closer and tries to reason with the officers who have now aimed their aggression at the family.

The officers apparently didn't like the way they family was talking to them and decided they would show them who is really in charge by what you see on the rest of the tape...

These officers are paid to keep the peace, not attack people for speaking out in defense of a woman.

Dis-respect is not a crime. Deal with it or get a new job.

Information provided by a friend of the Torres family who was a witness:

The Torres family was shopping at V.I.M in Brooklyn.

A woman was being arrested by the police officers and the Torres family were there to see it.

The Officers got very aggressive with the woman and began slamming her on the ground as you can see in the video. At that point the senior Torres family member told his sons they are really being rough with that woman but he kept his distance.

The female police officer curses at him and tells him to mind his business. That is when the male officer rushes back and assaults victor Torres and all hell breaks loose.

The family is assaulted in the presence of their children, The NYPD are extremely aggressive with a senior citizen who is sick.

They arrested the family and charged them with disturbing the peace.

There is currently a lawsuit against the NYPD.

The Torres family have been the repeatedly harassed by the NYPD since this incident.

Check back in the future for updates on the Torres family's case.
