Go home or go to jail! Fullerton CA police officer shoves camera man while filming a beating [UPDATED]

Uploaded by on Jul 10, 2011

It is not yet clear why the police were arresting the man at the start of the video, but what is clear is the physical aggression of the arresting officer. You can clearly see the officer punching the man in the face at least 3 times, as the camera man yells at the cop.

Once the man is on the ground more officers join in as one tries to keep the crowd from getting too close. The officer seems to be focusing on the camera the whole time.

Right at about 1:02 into the video you can hear the camera man telling the officers to not be so violent as an officers shoves him to the ground, making him lose grip of his camera. As he picks the camera back up, you see the same officer roughly grabbing another man out of the crowd and throwing him hard to the ground. His crime? Talking to the cop in a way the cop didn't like.

The crowd continues to yell at their employees (the officers) letting them know that their services are not needed or wanted at this time, and asking them to stop being aggressive. But the cops step it up and threaten every human around with the being locked in a cage if they do not go home.

I am still waiting on the official details from the person who filmed this video, but from what we can see here, the officers acted in a violent way that only causes people to be angry. The cop did not need to punch the man he was arresting, the other officer did not need to grab a second man and throw him to the ground for voicing an opinion, and he definitely should not have shoved the camera man to the ground.

This video shows a clear division between the tax payers and the people they pay to protect them.

[UPDATED July 10, 10:45PM ] Here's what happened according to the person behind the camera:

The cops were there to observe the people getting out of the bar and clubs. They said there was people arguing and they were there to break up the fight, but there wasn't a fight. The guy referring to soka park, his suv, and got out his car. The cop came out of no where and stoped in front of him and got out of his patrol car. There was some words exchanged, but I don't know the exact words.

Then I saw the officer grab his hand twist it back and yank upward behind his back. At that point I pulled out my iphone and started to record.

They charged us with assault/battery on a peace officer and resisting arrest.

We got thrown in jail until we posted bail.

If you look closely the person that was dragged from the crowd was me. I kept recording until the officer smacked me in the face and I dropped the phone until another guy picked it up and kept recording for me.
