#OO #OPD slams woman and her bike to the ground, beat her and chase her down the street!
At the Fuck the Police march in Oakland on January 7, 2012, a woman and her bike were shoved to the ground. She was then surrounded by several OPD who pulled out billy clubs and pummeled her and her bike. A group of fellow protesters screamed at the cops and ran to her rescue. Though she was pulled away from the grips of the police, she and the group were chased down the street. Moments after this footage, the entire group of protesters on this street were quarantined and illegally detained there for 10 minutes before being released...since they did nothing illegal.

I'm sorry, but what do you expect when you call your action "Fuck the Police March"? 99% of the police are the 99% too.
ReplyDeleteOccupy Atlanta Fuck the Police march went *all OVERrrr* the place - down streets, IN the streets, ON statues and monument-like structures - there were betwwen 50 and 100 people - streets were blocked off - the police just sucked it up and stuck in their cars for the event. Why? Because everybody standing out (that I saw) on their apartment balconies were cheering at the top of their lungs. Because the cops were outnumbered massively. And because really smart ppl decided it was a short march and violence will only get our message out on the double... Fuck the police.
ReplyDeleteHell yes - FUCK the police - there are too many jerks that are on the forces. They get what they deserve because they FAIL! FAIL! to eject those who violate our Constitutional RIGHTS every day.
While I do support secure borders and nationalism and a strong, secure nation, I also support the idea that the people (all of them) have civil RIGHTS!
While I appreciate our security and spy services for much of their intended purposes, I do not like the *violent behavior* that they have sometimes exhibited.
